One of our members from Alaska has shown some interest in a group event to Niagara, perhaps early 2010. We need to see how many people have a passport. |

Sunday, August 8th is 2 great events in town. I am doing a poll to determine which is more popular with our members, and then I will post it up as a meetup event when the poll closes this weekend. The first event is called "Twins Days" in Twinsburg, which features 1000's of sets of twins from around the world. It's supposedly a heck of a fun and surreal experience. In addition to the twins, there's other stuff like music, food, and "festival" activities. The second event is the Cedar Fairmount Summer Festival & Arts and Craft Show in Cleveland Heights. Featuring rocket car rides, pony rides, clown/puppet show, tours of the alcazar hotel, live music all day, art show, and international food. PLEASE VOTE, YOUR VOTE COUNTS UNLIKE REAL ELECTIONS. ~John |

With close to 1000 members, we're the biggest group in Northeast Ohio. I'd love to hear why you joined the group. Everyone has their own reasons, so let's take it to the polls. You may choose up to 4 answers. |

This idea came to fruition late last fall and I have to wait until this coming spring to get the ball rolling. I am planning 3 urban hikes this spring. I did a short one last fall that began on the rocks at Lakewood Park, which then took us along the Lake and then we hiked to Caribou Coffee and then the Beer Engine for lunch. The 3 I have in mind for this spring are as follows: (1) Edgewater Park rock climbing followed by a hike thru the Detroit Shoreway, ending up at Happy Dog for lunch and drinks; (2) Brecksville Reservation rock climbing and hiking; and (3) The Cuyahoga Valley Random Hike. |
