This idea came to fruition late last fall and I have to wait until this coming spring to get the ball rolling. I am planning 3 urban hikes this spring. I did a short one last fall that began on the rocks at Lakewood Park, which then took us along the Lake and then we hiked to Caribou Coffee and then the Beer Engine for lunch. The 3 I have in mind for this spring are as follows: (1) Edgewater Park rock climbing followed by a hike thru the Detroit Shoreway, ending up at Happy Dog for lunch and drinks; (2) Brecksville Reservation rock climbing and hiking; and (3) The Cuyahoga Valley Random Hike. |

If I were to plan a Hocking Hills Camping trip for Memorial Day weekend, would you be interesed? Hocking Hills is a state park in Southeast Ohio known for it's rugged terain and numerous rock formations, caves, and waterfalls. We would stay in the group camp at the State Park and have room for 30 people. It is roughly a 4 hr drive from Cleveland. Mild drinking would be allowed but no heavy drinking. Tent camping only. Price would be about $10-$15 a person. This covers the cost of the group camp for all 3 night. Showerhouse and flush toilets are within walking distance. I need a true idea on how many would be interested before I would start reserving stuff. More Info http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/tabid/743/Default.aspx |

I'm going to do a series of museum meetups. It would be some of the following: Art Museum, Natural History, Botanical Gardens, Crawford Air and Auto Museum, Western Reserve Historical Society, Great Lake Science Center, and the Rock Hall. They are mainly open on weekend but are open late on Wednesdays. When would would be a good time to do these? |

One of our members from Alaska has shown some interest in a group event to Niagara, perhaps early 2010. We need to see how many people have a passport. |
