I've been going through my photos for my new digital photo frame, and out of my collection I'd have to go with this one:
http://cybertootie.ne... Granted, it is vertically a tad bit off-center, but that is easily fixable by cropping it to 16x9 aspect ratio: ![]() Any one else care to make a nomination? Edited by Tootie on Dec 27, 2009 11:02 PM |

If you did, you should, like, learn how to center.

Tootie, "the rule of thirds" basically says you don't know what you're talking about.
And no, I do not wish to nominate a picture since there is no system for voting in place. However, I would like to post what I feel is one of many pictures of the year, from Alex's meetup, The Zombie Crawl: Edited by John on Dec 31, 2009 9:53 AM |

While I admit I had no prior actual knowledge of "the rule of thirds" I was aware of the concept in a basic way on a subconscious level. If you look at many of the photos I take, I do try to elevate faces to around 2/3rds - 5/8ths of the way up depending on how close the face is. (I'm more of a 5/8ths kind of guy)
As far as the 16x9 version of that photo, if I could go down a bit further, I would, but with you in the back above everyone else I wouldn't go very far. I'd bring the 2/3rd line to your chin. ![]() |
