I'm curious to see if anyone is interested in getting together to carve pumpkins this fall? Maybe we can have a contest of some kind?

I would like to be a contestant in the carving contest. I think we should hire a judge, outside of the meetup group who doesn't know ANYONE in the group, to keep things fair. I think a great spot would be in a public place where others could watch us, such as spectators and families with children. There are some VERY talented people in the meetup group and this could become very exciting.

I was thinking maybe saturday the 24th at Lakewood Park, in the afternoon.
or
even...maybe the afternoon of the 25th, so people from the east side can stop in lakewood on their way to Tootie's if they're going to that.

i love carving pumpkins! i take the seeds and roast them in the oven - yum!

the only thing is - pumpkins get super yucky nasty after being carved.

It takes about a week or two for pumpkins to get mushy and nasty depending on the weather.
