Marshall, an assistant organizer for the Cleveland Art Group has decided to throw up a last minute event for cult movie night at Cedar-Lee theatre (2163 Lee Rd., Cleveland Heights, OH 44118). He made me assistant host. So now, I am making it a joint event with 20's and 30's and making him the assistant host here. But beyond all that mumbo jumbo lies an event with loads of fun to be had! It's only the 2nd day of the new year and already, technically the 3rd event of 2010. For those enjoying this long new year's weekend, come party with us, as not too many events are planned after this. Official event description:

The Room: If you haven't seen this modern cult sensation yet, what are you waiting for? Tommy Wiseau's unintentionally hilarious film has played for years in LA and taken the rest of the midnight film circuit around the rest of the country. Admission for THE ROOM is $5.

"The Room" is an American black comedy about love, passion, betrayal and lies. It has five major characters. Johnny is a successful banker with great respect for and dedication to the people in his life, especially his future wife Lisa. Johnny can also be a little too trusting at times which haunts him later on. Lisa is a beautiful blonde fiancé of Johnny. She has always gotten her way and will manipulate to get what she wants. She is a taker, with a double personality, and her deadly schemes lead to her own downfall. Mark is a young, successful and independent best friend of Johnny. He has a good heart, but gets caught up in Lisa's dangerous web and gives into temptation. This eventually brings him to great loss. Claudette is the classy, sophisticated mother of Lisa who has had disappointing relationships in her life. She wants her daughter to be married as soon as possible so she can benefit. Denny is an orphan boy, naive and confused about life, love, and friendship. Denny is very ambitious and also very grateful to the people that are in his life. "The Room" depicts the depths of friendship and relationships in one's life and raises life's real and most asked question: "Can you ever really trust anyone?"

Movie starts at midnight, for anyone interested, we will meet at 9:30pm for drinks and food at Dewey's Pizza, across the street from the movie theatre.

PS - This is the 3rd in a series of movie meetup's the group has done. At the first one, "Paranormal Activity", new member Greg earned a reputation in the 20's and 30's underground for his choice of words, making him a cult classic member in the group. At the second movie meet, "Friday The 13th In 3D", Dave took over the cinema with some humor of his own. One member passed out and as a head's up, this is a midnight cult movie showing, so expect lots of laughing, noise, joking, and silliness.
