Announcing a new Meetup for The Cleveland 20s and 30s Group!

What: Holiday CircleFest at University Circle @@@ FREE ALL-DAY EVENT @@@

When: December 6, 2009 1:00 PM

Where:
Cleveland Public Library MLK Jr. Branch
1962 Stokes Blvd.
Cleveland, OH 44106

Join the Cleveland Art Group and The Cleveland 20's & 30's group as we enjoy the Holiday CircleFest at University Circle on Sunday, December 6th, from 1:00pm until 7:00pm. This is an annual event held in the heart of the city. It's a celebration of winter time, the holidays, and our museum's, college's, churches and other organizations that are situated throughout University Circle. There is a ton of stuff going on at the event but I have constructed our own schedule as a group. Please check out the official website link below and feel free to breakaway from the group if you see something we're not going to be visiting on our tour of places. The idea here is to have fun and see all that you can! Join us for just an hour or stick with the group all day, and have some fun! Everything is for the most part in walking distance from each other. There will be shuttle busses available and you always have the option to move your car or carpool if you like. I will print out and bring the schedule with a nifty map to the event for you to carry so you don't get lost or separated from the group.

Tentative schedule, subject to change. Please store my # in your phone because I can absolutely guarantee late arrivers and those wandering away will get separated from the group - it happens at every event, so this is the best way to find us. I will have an assistant organizer helping me with this event, once their name is established, I will post a second phone #. For now: John @ [masked]. Please don't prank me, thanks! ;d

___OUR GROUP'S SCHEDULE___

1:00 pm - Meet at Cleveland Public Library MLK Jr. Branch (1962 Stokes Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106) for a book/CD/DVD sale, free punch and cookies, and face painting for the kids - Please bring your kids, this is a totally family-friendly day of events.

1:30 pm - We will cross the street and head over to Judson Manor (1890 E. 107th St., Cleveland, OH 44106) for shopping with local artists selling gifts, jewelry, clothing, holiday treats, and more. There will also be a live music performance. Next door is Park Lane Villa (10510 Park Lane, Cleveland, OH 44106) where we can stop by briefly to make a holiday card for those in the service overseas. Card will be shipped and arrive before Christmas.

2:00 pm - Go next door to Euclid-Epworth Church (1919 E. 107th St., Cleveland, OH 44106) for the Cleveland Orchestra performance inside the most beautiful church in Cleveland.

3:00 pm - Meet over at CIA (Cleveland Institute of Art's Reinberger Gallery) (11141 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106) - Student Art Association Annual Holiday Art Sale and also a Swedish design exhibit on display.

3:30 pm - Cleveland Museum of Art (11150 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106) to warm up, they have a cafe, wine, food, and a very special exhibit inside of the cafe featuring art by CIA's students. There will also be another great live music performance inside the museum at this time.

4:00 pm - Right outside the museum will be a choir performance in Wade Oval, plus (optional) open-air horse-drawn carriage rides, FREE!

5:30 pm - Winter Lights Lantern Procession at Wade Oval

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - Ice skating at the Rink At Wade Oval - skate for FREE! Skate rentals $3.00.

And after 7:00 pm - Who knows, maybe a restaurant or bar in the neighborhood to end the night on a good note!

Come for some of this stuff, come for all of it! Meet new people, enjoy fun stuff in Cleveland, and have fun celebrating the holidays and {potentially} even some snow!

Dress warm, bring cash, bring a friend! Event is entirely FREE. I have selected only places that are FREE admission. Some locations serve food/drink that may not be free. We will also most likely hit an establishment after 7 for food or drinks. Many places will have holiday items for sale, so bring cash. Seeya there! Please post comments if you have questions, suggestions, or concerns.
