This is the big meetup! Cleveland's 20 & 30's is celebrating two major milestones: This will be our 250th event and we are also on the verge of reaching our 1000th member anyday now! To celebrate this achievment, we are going ALL OUT to bring it to you like never before. We hope to break our group's attendance record on this very special night. Let's go thru the facts surrounding this party!
THE BRAND NEW "Dragonfly Lounge" in Ohio City! The owners have agreed to pretty much give us exclusive use of the place and provide us with free pizza at 6:30pm. They're offering us $2 off the extensive specialty drinks menu (normally $8) and $2 off the wine list (normally $6-$10 a glass pour with 7 reds and 6 whites) until 9pm. Domestic draft beer is $3 and they have a wide variety of other drinks and beers on the menu.

The event will take place at a BRAND NEW bar/club/lounge that opened this week on W. 25th Street in Ohio City. It is located right next to the Garage Bar next door to where Moda used to be. Here is a review of the place in this weeks PD:
West 25th has been stealing partyers away from the Warehouse District for a while now. But, man, Dragonfly Lounge looks as if it could steal them away from Las Vegas.
The recently opened snazz pad -- 1865 West 25th St., Cleveland, [masked] -- reminds me of a joint you'd find in some casino on the Vegas strip.
Check out the glowing martini sculpture. The diamond lights set into the wood of the long, chic bar. The loungey atmosphere that's laid-back, not cheesy.
Oh, and you sure won't miss the three mirrors behind the bar. They're so massive that they remind me of one of those bottles with a boat inside.
In other words, how did they even get them through the door?
"Basically, I called around asking what's the biggest mirror I could get through the door," says co-owner Jeff Allison, who also runs the adjacent Garage Bar with his wife, Ursula Allison. "And the biggest one is, well, there it is -- 7 by 10 feet."
The mirrors are the most conspicuous but hardly the most mesmerizing things about Dragonfly. One look at that drink menu and I kept seeing my own reflection -- as a lush.
It's loaded with classic cocktails you rarely see in barland.
How about a Dark 'n' Stormy -- that rum and ginger-beer mix that calms the nerves and soothes the tummy. Or that infamous classic elixir, the Hemingway Daiquiri. Or a personal favorite, the Singapore Sling.
All great, and I didn't even get a nip or a sip.
You see, I fell in love with La Louisiane, a beaut that I've had once before in New Orleans. The mix of rye, benedictine, sweet vermouth, absinthe and bitters has an aroma and taste that goes down so smooth that you can drink three, no problem.
Whoa, and it glows when you rest the glass on the little lights in the bar. Snazzy.

- DJ Johnny will be providing an all 80's liveset.
- Cheryl will be running a 50/50 raffle.
Event officially begins at 7pm. However, doors open as early as 5 pm !!! Dress to impress, this is a classy place and tonight it's all ours!

Q) Parking?
A) FREE parking in the huge parking lot behind Dragonfly. Plenty of free parking on the streets is also available.

A) FREE event. Pizza is free and so will be Red Bulls.
Q) Dress code?
A) Dress to impress... wear something you feel comfortable in. This is a very classy joint.
Q) What time will this go till?
A) 2:30 am.
Q) How many people will be attending?
A) Probably well over 100 since multiple groups are joining forces. Our group alone could bring in close to 100.
Q) Where is this place?
A) It's on West 25th St. right by the West Side Market. Approx. 1/8th of a mile north of Lorain. Nearby establishments include Garage Bar, Old Angle Tavern, Bier Markt, Touch Supper Club, Great Lakes Brewery, and Kan Zaman.
Q) I'm new, this is my first event...
A) Welcome, this is the PERFECT first time event, because so many people will be to meet. Many of our organizers will be there to help new members get acquainted. Don't be shy, sign up for a good time!
Q) 250th meetup?
A) YES! This event will mark our 250th meetup event! We hope to reach our 1000th member around this time as well, as we are inching closer and closer to this number daily.
Q) Ohio City?
A) Yes, that's the name of the neighborhood that Dragonfly is in. It's one of the oldest and most enjoyable neighborhoods in Cleveland, just west of downtown, on the other side of the Cuyahoga River.

From John's art group: To make this have some relation to art, I have gotten a member from the art group, Jennifer C., to agree to create an original piece of art which will then be raffled off at the event. Raffle tickets will be very affordable and one lucky winner will get her piece of signed art! I want to personally say that she is an amazing artist and was the first person I thought of asking when I had the idea to raffle art off at this event!

Q) Who is Denny?
A) He is a member of 20's and 30's who is having a birthday this week. He is famous for his display of affection at Mr. Divot's, but moreso, he has shown us what a gentleman he is at other events where he has given members of the group piggy back rides back to their cars. He will receive a gift at this event.

Thanks everyone for coming out. It turned out better then Cheryl, John and I could have expected. The person at the door counting people said we probably had 250 or so people from meetup there and was up to 325 people by the end of the night. not sure where they all came from but it was a great event and Thanks goes out to everyone involved and to Jeff and the staff from Dragonfly for being so accomodating and they did a great job too. I'm sure we'll be back again sometime soon.

Error: Shellz birthday is in February so will not be celebrated. Addition: Denny's birthday is this week so we will be celebrating it at Dragonfly. Suggested attire for Denny: something close to nudity. A surprise gift for Denny will be given out at the event by the 20's and 30's Board of Directors.
Beth, there will be countless first timers, guaranteed. Looking at the list of who is attending, from my knowledge, many of those people are new to our group.

Okay, first of all, I dont think it being our 250th or we will have 1000 members is a selling point, the event is.
With that being said, I think this is a quality event may even pass Sutra in popularity, I would encourage the nightlife group to get involved as well.
